
Brian Clarke believes collaboration is key where the strength of many benefits the overall wellness of the project. Listening to the client’s needs and having the fortitude to see that they are met is a must. While studying at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Mr. Clarke worked as an architect assistant at Camp Dresser McKee, Annandale, VA and as a survey assistant at the National Historic Preservations, Floyd, VA. After graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor of Architecture, Brian interned at Eaton Mahoney Associates and later became a licensed architect at Brixen & Christopher Architects in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1998 he moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee and worked for several architectural firms. In 1999, Mr. Clarke joined Derthick, Henley & Wilkerson Architects and produced many important works for TVA. In May 2018, Mr. Clarke returned to Franklin Architects and remained until teaming up with Mr. Bartoo in 2021. Method Architecture has flourished with this partnership.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION AND AFFILIATIONS
Mr. Clarke is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED Accredited Professional. Brian holds a professional certification by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Mr. Clarke has been registered as a licensed architect in the states of Tennessee and Utah. Brian has been active in the American Institute of Architects and was the 2010 AIA Chattanooga President. Brian served at the CSI Chattanooga Chapter President in 2011 – 2012. Mr. Clarke is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga 2007. Brian has volunteered for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Interior Architecture and Design Advisory Board for a decade and continues to do so. He served the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Market Center Council, Board Vice President 2004 – 2006; Northside Neighborhood House, Board of Directors, 2000 – 2006; Youth sport coach, 2007 – 2017.

Mr. Clarke has been successful in a wide variety of design categories, including but not limited to the following: corporate & mission critical facilities (eighty-six for TVA); industrial & warehouse facilities; health care & assisted living facilities; garage & parking structures; educational, childcare, and religious facilities.
